Cory Larsen & Mike Mattson pioneered an industry - making refurbished equipment a viable alternative to the hurried refresh schedule pushed by OEMs, providing an affordable and reliable IT solution. As part of the executive team at the firm that made Minneapolis a hardware brokerage hub, they grew the company to over $90 million in revenue and 132 employees.
A New Beginning
Cory and Mike saw an opportunity to start their own business.Rhino Technology Group was founded. Their initial warehouseis just 900 sq. ft., with a mighty staff count of 3.
The Big Idea
Whiplashed by eBay’s changing rules and methods, Rhino decided to that it can better meet the needs of end users and founded Core 4 Solutions.
Core 4 and Rhino had literally broken through walls, in both directions, and was out of space to expand. After a move and state of the art build out, we were better positioned to offer a higher level of service, increased inventory and and wider breadth of platform offerings.

Founder Cory Larsen is a respected industry veteran, with over 25 years of experience in the enterprise hardware space. As a graduate of the Carlson School of Management, Cory jumped directly into the refurbished hardware business by joining one of the early pioneers of the industry. He quickly ascended to the to VP of Sales and lead the firm’s growth to $80 million annually. From there, partnering with Mike Mattson, he went on to form a leading enterprise hardware brokerage, which eventually birthed Core 4 Solutions.
Founder Mike Mattson is also a well-known industry vet with over 25 years of experience in IT hardware and services. Prior to founding Core 4, Mike attended Minnesota State University in Mankato. He then spent 10 years as VP of Channel and Federal Sales for an industryleading IT firm, growing sales of the startup Intel-based server division to $8 million annually. Partnering with Cory Larsen, Mike has built a leading enterprise hardware disposition and brokerage firm, where he also secured valuable government contracts.
As Core 4’s first employee, Bronson’s goal was tocreate, grow, and manage the Core 4 brand. He has done just that — driving overall strategy, managing the end user and e-commerce sales teams, and pioneering new programs. Bronson leverages his experience building online brands to ensure Core 4 Solutions continues to offer clients the highest level of service in the hardware industry.
Vice President of Sales
Eliot has worked with co-founders Cory and Mike since 2006. Today, he heads up the Core 4 Solutions sales team, which specializes in enterprise-level server, storage, and networking sales. He is a nationally recognized HPE hardware broker, but he is also proficient with Cisco, IBM, Juniper, and Dell. Eliot is an industry veteran who has worked in IT hardware disposition and procurement for 10+ years.
Operations and IT Manager
Matt joined the Core 4 Solutions team in 2011. He is responsible for managing Core 4’s fulfillment center and technical staff, overseeing operations at our facility in Minnesota. Additionally, Matt manages all of Core 4’s internal IT. He has over 15 years of enterprise IT hardware experience with degrees in both information technology and operations management.
